Prathama fulfils almost 50% blood requirement of the city. This has been done with the support of Voluntary Blood Donors and Voluntary Blood Drive organizers. Prathama was the first blood centre of the country to work on 100% Voluntary blood donations, 100% blood components and availability of blood components to needy patients “Without Replacement”. All this was made possible with continuous support of blood drive organizers. Prathama completed its 14 years of service to the society and on this occasion Blood Drive Felicitation program was organized. Blood drive organizers were invited on this occasion, who regularly organizes blood donation drive with Prathama.
On this occasion Dr. R.K Vyas- Director Gujarat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI) was invited as Chief Guest. Dr. Jayshree Shukla- Medical Director of Prathama and Mr. V.Harimoorthy, Chief Technical Officer of Prathama, were also present on this occasion. Dr. R. K Vyas addressed blood drive organizers and provided information about cancer. He also mentioned that organizing blood donation drive is very helpful to society, as the same ensure availability of blood components to needy patients, immediately when need arises. He also mentioned that cancer patients during their treatment procedure also need blood components, regularly. Prathama provides Platelets to cancer patients admitted in GCRI, totally free of processing charges. Dr. Vyas said that this collective effort of Prathama and GCRI is great help for cancer patients.
Blood Drive organizers were felicitated by trophy & certificate. On this occasion representatives of associated esteem organizations were present. Mr. Ashish Desai- Dean Students Activity, NIRMA University, also graced this function, with his presence. Prathama thanks all blood drive organizers for their trust and continuous support.
