The 49th annual national conference of the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology (ISBTI), TRANSCON 2024, concluded on a high note, marking another milestone in the evolution of Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banking in India.
Held from November 21st to 23rd at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, this prestigious event attracted a diverse mix of approximately 700 delegates from across India and around the world.
Among the attendees were clinicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers, all gathered to share knowledge, explore cutting-edge research, and foster collaborations aimed at enhancing the future of transfusion medicine.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Krishan Kumar, SAG, DGHS, who delivered an insightful address emphasizing the critical role of innovation and collaboration in transforming the field.
The involvement of Regulatory authorities, including representatives from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the Dept. of Drugs Control, Government Organizations like the National Institute of Biologicals (NIB) and Quality Council of India (QCI), Gujarat State Council for Blood Transfusion (GSCBT) ensured that the conference aligned with the latest guidelines and policies governing Transfusion Medicine.
Being secretariat of ISBTI-Gujarat Chapter, Prathama Blood Centre has played a major role at front foot with remarkable presence in leadership & organizing such Mega event along with scientific participation at different levels.
Dr. Ripal Shah, Medical Director, Prathama Blood Centre, Chaired the session, delivered a talk along with being an Organising Secretary of TRANSCON 2024.
Dr. Nirali Patel, Regional Co-ordinator, Transfusion Medicine Specialist, delivered a talk in debate session along with that actively involved in Hall management & Inauguration committee.
Dr. Rajvi Vora, Transfusion Medicine Specialist, selected for oral paper presentation along with actively involved in Hall Management.
Dr. Tejal Ahuja, Transfusion Medicine Specialist, selected for oral paper presentation along with actively involved in Poster Management.
Ms. Krupali Vaidya, Lab co-ordinator got selected for oral paper presentation.
Four posters were got selected from our Technical Team which includes our Lab co-ordinators -Mr. Rakesh Luhar, Ms. Disha Shah, Ms. Hetal Patel, Ms. Rakhi Shah.
Workshop on Immunohematology sponsored by ISBT was held at Prathama Blood Centre, Ahmedabad on 20th November, 2024 in association with BIO-RAD. Total 30 delegates registered for the workshop. One International faculty & Two National faculties shared their knowledge on immunohematology during workshop.
Along with the theory session, practical session & hands on training were given on Unexpected Antibody Detection, DAT testing (Acid Elution Technique) & ABO Discrepancy (Adsorption & Heat Elution Technique) to all participants.
To make this workshop successful, 9 persons from BIO-RAD, 2 Faculties & 2 Lab Technicians from Prathama Blood Centre work tremendously throughout the day.
