Dr. Ripal Shah is a renowned personality in the field of Blood Transfusion in the Country. She is in the field of Blood Banking for last 25 years and won many National Awards like J. R. Jolly Award – 2021 by ISBTI, Corona Warrior Award - 2020 by ISBTI, etc. and International Awards like Developing Country 2024 by International Society of Blood Transfusion, Dr. Harold Gunson Fellowship – 2011 by International Society of Blood Transfusion, etc. for her intense work and contribution to the field of blood transfusion.

She has more than 50 publications about blood banking and blood transfusion in her credit. She has a major role in identification of new blood group system (Emm blood group system) recently.

She is active member of National and International professional bodies like Indian Medical Association (IMA), International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohematology (ISBTI), Indian Society of Transfusion Medicine (ISTM), Indian Association of Pathologist & Microbiologist (IAPM), etc.

Dr. Ripal has joined Prathama in 2019 as its Medical Director, heading operations.

Mr. V. Harimoorthy

Mr. Harimoorthy is a well-known and familiar name amongst the Blood Banking and Blood Transfusion fraternity in the Country. With his 44 years of rich experience in Blood Transfusion, probably he is one of the most experienced person in Blood Banking in the Country. He joined Prathama 25 years back as one of its Founder Member.

Mr. Harimoorthy had played a major role in establishing Prathama Blood Centre, putting all the systems in place and establishing quality standards too, making it safest and trusted blood source for the clinicians and patients in Ahmedabad and making it one of the most modern blood centres in India, which is widely considered as pioneer of modern blood banking in the Country. He has taught and trained the staff at all levels and he immensely contributed in getting all the accreditations to Prathama.

Mr. Harimoorthy has about 17 publications on various topics in transfusion medicine to his credit which are published in National and International journals.
